Project 1: ASRA – Charity to educate: ASRA means Divine Shelter and it is a charity organisation to support and to help village children in every possible way.
Asra Charity is a Govt. Registered committee of eight members from the village including the director. Most of the members are educated and are in different professions. They have all come together to support and to help those students, who are in need.

I had a dream, which was seen in November 2001 in my spiritual journey From High Himalayas Nepal to Ocean of South India - Annapurana Trek and Mukti Nath Dham, Pashupati Nath, Chardham in Utranchal-Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedar Nath and Badri Nath with Varindaban, Rishikesh, Rajneesh Ashram in Pune and Goa.
I thank my friends from Australia Ginny Moris (Yogasarita) an advanced Yoga teacher for Yoga Bihar School Branch in Asutrialia, Adriano Merola (Khoji) from Italy a spiritual explorer and airline steward and Daragha Anglim and Rachael Messen from Dublin Ireland. They helped me to make this journey successful.
In Goa I taught yoga and worked in a beach side Camp resort Dream-catcher for 6 weeks. Which offer me an opportunity to meet western tourist and to know more about their life style? I felt I was in a different planet and I felt life is not fair, one side people spending thousands on drinks and smoking and other side some one has not even one bread to eat.
Of course equal division of wealth will not make every one happy, but a little help can make a great change in some one’s life. How can I make use of my life? May be to help them, who really needs help to show their talent and grow up to be a good human. I started to write a book to protect our ancient traditions and committed myself to do something for village children. What may make a big change in someone’s life, as well as towards humanity and Nature?
Discovering the shining Diamond in the dark mines:
As we know that education is best thing to make our life better in this new world. But many of the children are not able to study because of hard weather, poverty and their circumstance. We have experienced that the poverty doesn’t allow people to rise high in study and knowledge. Some of them are interested to learn. But they don't have right books and help lines which are hard for them to achieve. Some one spending thousands of rupees on smoking, drinking and on useless fun. Other side people don't have single bread to eat and a shelter to take a breath and sleep at night. Sometimes I think if humans help each other this world may get better. But still after all these hard, busy life and other responsibilities.
Treks India promised to provide books and other helpful material to those under privileged children in these mountains. We know that people get donation and it doesn’t reach to the right hands. That's why Treks India believes in direct help. Treks India doesn’t want to give money to the children or to their parents. We study the needs of village children and buy those things our self and give them by our own hands. Which will cost less and easy to know that we have helped some one. We hope that with this small amount we will be able to help those students who really want to study and they don't have books or other study material. We are only helping the age of 5-14 years old students. - Puran D Bhardwaj
